Then on Monday we hosted a preview of the show that will be performed this coming weekend - Gravity. This show is very unique in that it was choreographed in collaboration with a composer and music ensemble from Denmark. The music ensemble is called Figura. The composer and musicians arrived a few days ago and have been enjoying their visit to Salt Lake. The musicians are performing live, on stage with dancers... something you do not often see. The other unique element is that a large portion of the music is improvised.... very fun and interesting as its a little different each time you see it.
After the preview of the show and the question/answer segment with the choreographer, musicans and composer, we held a little reception for all those that attended. Troy and I spent a lot of time trying to find authentic refreshments from Denmark... we found a few items, mostly cheese. Overall it was quite the array of international fare.... lax from sweden, variety of havarti cheeses from denmark, crackers from germany and norway, brie from france, etc etc. We even had some Glogg (sp?), a traditioanl danish drink. The event was a great success and we had a lot of fun putting it on. Can't wait for the show this weekend!!
