Happy Easter!!

This a poem that one of my girlfriends wrote....

True Meaning of Easter

What do we think of when we hear the word Easter?
Many think of bunnies, baskets, colored eggs,
Chocolates, candies, Easter egg hunts and someone dressed up
in a bunny suit with the name Peter
Still some think of little chicks with skinny legs.

But what are we really celebrating this time of year?
The resurrection of Christ, of course, a man so dear.
Who died on the cross and suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane
And murmured not once while he died for you and me.

Christ rose again on that bright Easter morn
The pain and suffering, he faced no more.
He rose with such love, glory and grace
With nothing but humbleness and light on his face.
He knew of God’s children, you and me, would be saved
For the tremendous sacrifice God in Heaven and he made.

So among all the candy, baskets, bunnies and fun
Remember our Savior and the many things he has done
The true meaning of Easter, let it forever be in our hearts
And our Brother, our Lord, from us will never part.

Happy Easter!

Ok.... I know its not really Easter YET, but I came to such a nice surprise that I thought I would wish everyone a Happy Easter a few days early! :)

You see, today was a rather long day... started with a seminar on fund-raising events that was very interesting and gave me some great ideas for next year's RWDC Annual Fundraiser, etc. Then off to pick up my car from the shop, then some errands, then some work, etc etc.... all followed up by a Board Meeting. Board Meetings are fun, but lots of work too, especially when they are the first meeting after the fund-raiser. Everyone raved about the event which was very nice to hear, and we even started planning next year's event. Haha! Pencil it in for April 3rd! :) Anyway, I was very happy to find out that we raised over $18k at the fundraiser! Hooray! That's pretty close to what we raised the last 2 years, and with so many poeple concerned with the recession and the economy, its wonderful that we raised so much this year as well! Troy and I are both thrilled that the event was such a great success!

Anyway.... what a pleasant surprise to come home after such a long day to find a wonderful Easter package waiting on my porch! Thanks Mom! I can't wait for Easter morning so Troy and I can "open" our wonderful Easter Basket!

Happy Easter!

OK... I am a few days late but hopefully everyone understands why. Haha!

What a fun Easter weekend I had.. Despite the small inconvenience of the hospital visit, I had a great weekend with Mom and Dad! And we were able to spend some time with Paul, Pat and Jodi too. Thank you all for the fun dinners! And Dad, thanks for the home repairs! Mom... thanks for everything!!

And then on Easter Sunday, I went over to have dinner at the Hickman house and had a great time with Troy's family too! Tanya and crew were headed to Disneyland and I was sad to not see them during their visit... but at least I got to see everyone else in their new Easter dresses. :) Avery's was adorable and she was so proud of her cute hair and new shoes... a girl after my own heart! Haha!
