Snow!

We've had our first snow...  and the dogs are thrilled!  Troy, however, is not so happy as he isn't a big fan of the snow.

Book Festival

For the last few months I have been helping with the 13th Annual Utah Humanities Book Festival.  It's been a very fun project.  The big event was this past weekend at the City Library.  We had 40ish authors in town doing panel discussions, readings, etc.   The event was very well attended and while it was a lot of work, I had a lot of fun too!
These are the gorgeous flowers that Robert put together for the stage.... they are now at our house and still look fabulous!
We had SkippyJon Jones and Madeline at the festival too!

Ice Cream with Paulette and Ashleigh...

Paulette and her family were in town the week of our anniversary for Paulette's father's funeral.  Jack Leifson had been sick for quite some time, but it was still such a sad occasion.  Troy and I were able to attend the funeral and it was a very nice service.  It was also wonderful to see Paulette, Doug, Ashleigh and Madison.  Paulette and Ashleigh stayed in town for a week or so after the funeral.  After our brunch in Deer Valley, we headed down to Provo to meet up with Ashleigh and Paulette for ice cream!

Happy Anniversary!

I can't believe it's already been a year since our wedding!  I love being married to Troy and this first year has just flown by!   Unlike the wedding weekend, we had a very mellow anniversary celebration...  we went to the Symphony on Saturday night and then on Sunday we headed up to Deer Valley to have a nice relaxing brunch.   The food was sooooo delicious!  And the canyons were just gorgeous!

Our waiter brought us a nice surprise of fancy gourmet chocolates....

Troy got me the most beautiful flowers!
Since we weren't in California to have the wedding cake, we had Red Velvet Cupcakes. Yum!
We also had a Key Lime Doughnut!  Yum! Yum!
As a surprise for Troy, I got his favorite wedding picture framed for his office.  I found an amazing sale on frames and was so very excited!

Football

Troy and I went to TJ's game a couple weeks ago...  great game and fun to see everyone!   Doesn't Sophia make a cute little cheerleader?

Conference Weekend...

Troy and I had the opportunity to attend General Conference with Colleen and a few of the Burgoynes a few weeks ago.  It was a great experience and we always love it when the Burgoynes come to visit.

Troy and Henry had a great time playing a silly game on Troy's iPhone.

Octoberfest

Snowbird does a big Octoberfest celebration each year.  Strangely, it happens in August and September, but oh well.  One afternoon Tina, Darren, Avery, Troy and I headed up to goof off a bit.

Gardner Village

Gardner Village has great Halloween decorations, and apparently is a popular place for family photos.  The Hickman clan met there before our walk down the Jordan River Parkway, and there were families everywhere taking pictures.  Haha!  Anyway... we took a few as well.  :)

Fall Fun...

We have had lots of fun this fall going for drives, checking out the gorgeous leaves, a short hike here and there, Octoberfest, etc.  We had beautiful weather and loved every minute of it!
MillCreek Canyon
Provo Falls... such a beautiful place
Jen and Troy at Provo Falls

Mirror Lake

Uinta Mountains
 Our next vacation spot.....  haha!!

Deer Creek Reservoir

Golf

I am still quite terrible at golf.... but Troy and I enjoy going to the driving range and hitting a bucket of balls.  The view from the driving range at the South Mountain Country Club is just beautiful!  So, even if I don't have any good hits, I still enjoy the view.  :)

These golf shoes were the best purchase ever!  Yes, they are all mesh so my feet don't get hot!  Love it!
