Fun Valentines Weekend...
Here is a photo of our dinner! :) We made that same lasagna we had over New Year's but we made a few edits... I liked it a little better this time.
As you all know (I think everyone knows this... ), we have turned in the paperwork for the temple clearance... so now we are just in waiting mode. Since we are hoping to get our plans moving quickly once we have the clearance, we decided it would be fun to start looking at wedding invitations, etc... so we spent sometime at Tabula Rasa at Trolley Square picking out a few that we like. We found some great options that we both love. So... now back to waiting...Then today we went to hang out with Paul and Pat for a bit before they take off.... we always love spending time with them, so that was wonderful! We will miss them tons!
Here's just a silly random photo of Aleusha. :)
P.S. Thanks for the valentine card and treats - Sherri, Tommy and TJ!

Gotta love ballet dancers in drag! Haha!
Cinderella was great! We just loved it! As we have gotten to know a few of the dancers more, each show just becomes more entertaining to watch. The new artistic director changed a few things up from the last production of Cinderella that I saw, but all the changes were excellent. :) Next month we have Cinderella, the Opera, and we are very much looking forward to that as well!
Before the ballet we had dinner at Bambara – excellent food and phenomenal service! We even decided to go back after the ballet for dessert… we loved it and may make this a new tradition. :) We chatted with our server for a while too and found out that she is a composer, so next weekend we are going to try to introduce her to the new non-profit composer’s collective that some friends of ours started.
We also went to the Symphony on Saturday – Greig’s Piano Concerto, which also featured a Bartok piece that was wonderful! I think due to it being Valentine’s weekend, the place was packed! It was great to see, but also made it a bit warm in there… not good since we had been up so late the night before! Haha! Despite all that, we both thoroughly enjoyed all the pieces and the conductor was a riot to watch! It was a guest conductor, from
This week will be a little crazy… we have a dance show in Park City tomorrow, Askie arrives on Wednesday (Yeah!!!), I have a planning meeting for the fundraiser on Thursday, symphony on Friday, and then a birthday party and the Salty Cricket Composers concert on Saturday…… I am tired already! I better get to bed early tonight!!
Plus we are hoping to find time to go see Menopause – the musical! It’s been getting great reviews and they are donating to the MS Society for every ticket purchase – you all know what a sucker I am for stuff like that! Haha!

Hooray for White Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

Don't they look yummy??? I had already eaten a few at this point.... yumm!!!
Our tradition for Valentine’s Day is to have a dinner at home on that night, and to go out on the following weekend when every place isn’t so crowded and insane. Last year it was Cafe Molise and the Symphony. Tonight it is the Ballet – Cinderella to be more specific. We are both very excited for the show! I saw Cinderella several years ago when Ballet West performed it, and I just loved it! The wicked step-sisters were guys in drag and it was just hilarious! So tonight we are headed off to Bambara for dinner and then across the street to the Ballet – can’t wait!
So anyway… last night we stuck with tradition and I made a yummy (if I do say so myself... haha!) teriyaki chicken dish with a variety of steamed veggies and rice (Thanks Mom for introducing me to that yummy teriyaki sauce you use! It’s the best!). I even got a little adventurous and tried making garlic snap peas… thankfully they turned out delicious!
We decided after dinner to try something new and went to a Couples Yoga Workshop. It was very fun! They taught us some new partner yoga poses and some cool partner assisted stretches. It was our first time taking a class in the yoga studio at our gym and we may just be addicted now! While we love the fusion classes (Fusion is a mixture of Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates and Meditation) they do out in the group fitness studio, the yoga studio is heated so your muscles stay warm and it has candles, blankets, bamboo floors… It’s very cool! Oh – and
Anyway… we had a lovely Valentines Date and even took some silly photos… yes, thats me getting warmed up for yoga and posing with my yoga mat (a gift from Mom and Dad from a few years back… its still in great shape and I love it! Thanks!). Haha!

Ahh... Valentine's Day!

So this year for Valentine's Day, Troy and I decided to stay in and I attempted to make us a nice, romantic dinner. We laughed when we sat down at the table to eat, because we never sit at the table at my place... let alone use the china and the crystal! But the dinner turned out quite yummy and we had a lovely evening watching a travel channel special on the Tuscan Region of Italy. Hopefully we will go there on vacation soon!
For the second part of our Valentine's Celebration we went out for a lovely dinner on Saturday night at one of my favorite Italian restaurants, Café Molise, and then headed off to the symphony. It's turning out to be almost a Saturday ritual for us to go to either the symphony, a play, or the opera and we are enjoying every minute of it! Those season tickets were a great Christmas present! :)
