Tomorrow we are headed out Oregon for a few days with Troy's family and the whole Hickman clan. I have never been to Oregon so I am quite excited, as I hear the coast is just gorgeous. We will probably make a stop in Portland as well, and I look forward to seeing that area as well. Troy has often talked of wanting to move to Portland... I suppose it will be good to go there at least once so that I can decide if I like that idea. Haha!
After a fun filled weekend in Oregon we will venture down the coast to San Francisco to spend a day or two with Trevor (and Shelly too! Brett we will miss you if you are traveling).... can't wait!
Then it's off to Newport for a few days as well.... we are looking forward to the Porsche show in Dana Point, and to visiting with friends and family (especially Elli, Luke and Etta). Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Caine's BDay Party...
A couple weeks ago Troy and I attended the birthday party of one our Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company dancers - Caine Keenan. We had a wonderful time! We always enjoy hanging out with Caine, but we also got to see "Mya Channel" perform, got to catch up with other dancers/alumni that we hadn't seen in a couple weeks and it also gave us a chance to get to know our newest dancer, Prentice, a little better.

Ragnar Relay
Wow! What an adventure! The Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay is not just a relay race, but a 48 hour party. And an exhausting one for those running it, and those working it. Haha! It was a very long and hectic 2 days, but I had a great time!!
Operation Kids had booths at the starting line, exchange 12, exchange 30 and the finish line. I worked shifts at all 4 locations and had a great time talking with the operation kids staff and all the runners. I ran into several people that I didn't know would be there, which made it extra fun!
Operation Kids hosted a breakfast/lunch at Exchange 30 where all the proceeds were being donated to Best Buddies Utah. I got there at 2am to set up and the first runners started arriving at about 4am. The food was wonderful! And everything was going great until we had a very bad rainstorm that rolled in. The rain and very strong wind brought everything to a complete halt, which was not good for the fundraising. All the runners stayed in their vans instead of venturing out into the rain.... which meant we had a TON of extra food. We decided to have a "garage sale" and took the sandwiches and salads right down to the parking lot and started selling it off for a dollar an item in an effort to not throw away quite as much food. We had expected to have 2400 people for breakfast and lunch, but I think we ended up closer to 1000. That rain storm really messed things up, unfortunately. But.... we had a good time, and still raised some money for Best Buddies.... just not as much as we had hoped.
The week before Troy and went on an adventure and drove the route..... we had a wonderful Sunday drive... and one very dirty car...

Catching up...
I haven't been great at posting lately... sorry! My schedule has just been a little nuts. Haha!
I have taken on a really fun project with Operation Kids. They are the national charity partner for the Ragnar Relays that take place across the country. This coming weekend is the Wasatch Back Relay. It starts in Logan on Friday and ends in Park City on Saturday. The course is 188 miles and the teams are made up of 12 people that each run 3 legs ranging in length from 3 to 8 miles each. We have an Operation Kids Booth at 4 different locations - the start, exchange 12, exchange 30, and the finish line. I will be spending some time at each of the 4 booths (and so will Troy, of course) on Friday and Saturday.... basically just under 48 hours straight of working... no sleep.... it will be a little nuts! But hopefully lots of fun too!
All of the proceeds raised at this event will be going to benefit the local chapter of Best Buddies - a great organization that works with down syndrome kids. I am very excited to be involved with this event and it has been such a rewarding and fun experience!
Also.... I found out that Lee is running the race, as is Jared. And Tricia - I hear you are driving a team van?? Be sure to watch for me at the OK booth at the start, finish, ex 12 or at the breakfast at ex 30! Hope you have a great time!!

I know some of you didn't know that Troy has been on crutches, but he is healing well and getting a little more mobile. :0) At basketball the week before last he dislocated his ankle and sprained it very badly. He really hated being on crutches and has been quite miserable... but he is walking better this week and feeling a lot better.

Walter is a DADDY! :)
One of my oldest and dearest friends, and his partner Dilson, have become parents!
Troy and I could not be happier for them! Little Jason Dilson Schild arrived a couple days ago, after much waiting and heart break. We are both looking forward to meeting Jason, hopefully very soon! Congratulations Walter and Dilson! And congratulations Jason - your parents are two of my favorite people!

A visit from the Hortons
Last week we had the privilege of having the Horton family come for a visit. Trevor thinks Auntie Jen's house is very cool because I have 5 fans! :) Very exciting stuff!Troy and I tagged along on a trip to the zoo, and also had a fun day at the pool! It was wonderful to have them here and we miss them tons!

Art gallery...
Troy and I had such a great visit in California a couple weeks ago! We stayed for about a week and had plenty of time to play, but it still seemed to go way to fast! We miss everyone so much!
Last, but not least... We went to check out a few of Mom's paintings in an exhibit in Laguna...
