Auction, Auction, Auction...

My dining room table is looking a bit like an auction table. Haha! The Annual Fundraiser for Ririe-Woodbury is coming up in about a month and I have been busily collecting auction items of all shapes and sizes..... baskets of scrapbooking supplies, tons of gift certificates, and of course a gorgeous painting from my Mom! (Thanks Mom!)

The Fundraiser should be lots of fun, but it has been a TON of work! I hope its a great success!

Tomorrow Troy and I are going out for a fun date night! :) The symphony first and then a Vivace afterparty at The New Yorker. Looking forward to it!!

Busy Weekend...

We had a VERY busy weekend, but it was enjoyable too! Friday was Ballet West's Madame Butterfly and we both thoroughly enjoyed it! There was an opening piece called "Gong" that we both disliked, but Madame Butterfly was great! The dancer who played the part of Cio-cio San (Butterfly) has never performed a lead role before from what I understand and I thought she was amazing!

Saturday night we went to the Symphony - Tchaikovsky's 1st Piano Concerto. The concert was amazing! Troy and I both thought that the pieces performed were absolutely beautiful. Excellent concert!

Saturday afternoon, while it was very nice to see many of Troy's relatives, we were unfortunately attending his Great-Uncle Victor's funeral. I only met Victor a couple times but he seemed to be very kind and loving man. The funeral service was very nice and Victor was buried with full military honors after serving valiantly in World War II.

He will be missed... Victor Henry Wathen

Fun Valentines Weekend...

Troy and I had a wonderful Valentines Day... We didn't eat dinner until about 10 PM, but it was yummy. Haha! We had a fun day just goofing off.
Here is a photo of our dinner! :) We made that same lasagna we had over New Year's but we made a few edits... I liked it a little better this time. As you all know (I think everyone knows this... ), we have turned in the paperwork for the temple clearance... so now we are just in waiting mode. Since we are hoping to get our plans moving quickly once we have the clearance, we decided it would be fun to start looking at wedding invitations, etc... so we spent sometime at Tabula Rasa at Trolley Square picking out a few that we like. We found some great options that we both love. So... now back to waiting...

Then today we went to hang out with Paul and Pat for a bit before they take off.... we always love spending time with them, so that was wonderful! We will miss them tons!

Here's just a silly random photo of Aleusha. :)
P.S. Thanks for the valentine card and treats - Sherri, Tommy and TJ!

Tragedy...

Our thoughts and prayers are going out to all those involved in or affected by the tragic airplane accident in Buffalo last night. Such sad news.

Troy spent the whole night at work feilding calls about the crash, people looking for family members and friends who they thought might be on the plane..... very rough night. I don't envy him that task, but I admire his willingness to go in and help out.

Such sad news...

Back in action...

Yeah! I am back in action.... working computer with a nice big screen, a battery that holds a charge and a touch pad that works... LIFE IS GOOD! :)

So.... more updates will come very soon, but in the meantime we had a great weekend! The Symphony on Friday was beautiful! The Cedar Lake Ballet show on Saturday was great! It was more contemporary dance than ballet but we LOVED it!!! The Studio D After Party was a bit of a bust but we still had a good time. :)

Then of course Sunday was Paul and Pat's mission farewell and lots of time hanging out with that whole family.... which Troy and I always love. The kids were especially loving to use Troy as a jungle gym today... Haha! We will miss Paul and Pat when they head to New Zealand... perhaps we'll have to go visit. :)

Here is Troy entertaining Emi, Nellie, JJ, William, and at times Peter, and Andrew as well. Haha! Last of all we had Troy's birthday dinner with his family. It was great to see everyone and Troy received awesome gifts, as always. :) Thanks again, Colleen (and all the Hickmans) for including my Dad in the fun!
