Rockin with KISS!

Last night we had the opportunity to go see KISS in concert. Fun concert! Troy and Darren were right down in the front row and had the best time! Troy's neck is very sore today from all the "head banging". I feel bad for him but it's kinda funny too! :)

Troy and Darren are right there at the front... black t-shirts... you can see them right? Haha!
Anyway, Tina and I had a fun time laughing about how little of the music we knew and watching the boys pop up on the jumbo screens. Darren was right in front of the camera so he was on the big screens a minimum of 10 times and I saw Troy 5 or 6 times as well.

It was a great show and we all had a wonderful time!Gene Simmons up in the rafters above the stage. There was a very pretty full moon last night too... you can see it to the left above the stage. This photo doesn't do it justice, of course.
And a little video, just for fun....

AIDS Walk followed by the ReAL Soccer Match

Last Saturday Troy and I had a fun filled day with a few of the dancers from Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company. We started the morning out with the Utah AIDS Walk. 9 miles around downtown, starting at Liberty Park and ending at the 9th & 9th street fair. We had planned to do the Heart Walk (too many charity walks on one day!), but jumped at the opportunity to walk with the dancers on "Team Ririe-Woodbury!" We walked with Jo Blake, Caine Keenan, Tara McArthur and Betsy Wilberg. We had a wonderful time!

After the walk we all headed to the ReAL Soccer game. We had a leisurely lunch and watched a great game! Such a fun day spent with some of my favorite people!

Summer in the canyons...

A few weeks ago Troy and I decided we'd better get out and enjoy the canyons a bit before the snow arrives, so we headed up Little Cottonwood one weekend and stumbled upon the Tour of Utah bike race.  We decided to follow the bike route and watch some of the race.

The following week we headed up Big Cottonwood Canyon and walked through the nature preserve at the Solitude Nordic Center.

Fire! Fire! Fire!

On Sunday there was a huge grass fire in Rose Canyon. It came down the canyon and into Herriman. Unfortunately 3 or 4 homes were lost, but fortunately there weren't more. These are pictures from the newspaper. I post a few from our camera later. We had a very clear view from our house.... kind of scary that the flames were so big we could see them all the way across the valley. Several people we know had to evacuate their homes (about 1600 homes all together). Some people have been allowed back in their homes, but the fire is only 25% contained so many are still in danger. Hopefully the fire will stay in the canyon and away from the homes.

Rest in Peace my Sweet Puppy...

Askie Silver
March 17, 1996 to August 12, 2010

He lived a very long happy life filled with love, companionship, walks and lots of long naps. He LOVED the snow and would just light up and start acting like a puppy again every time it snowed. He loved to follow me around the house and very quickly took to following Troy around the house as well. Even though he didn't spend a lot of time at our house the last few years, we always loved having him come to stay and I cried every time he left.

I miss him every day, but remember his sweet loving face every chance I get.....

Christmas 2009
Askie loves the balcony...
Askie thrilled that the tile stairs have been covered with softer, much easier to walk on carpet...
Making himself at home... Whenever I would leave, he would go up and have a nap in the bedroom until I got home... so sweet...
Adjusting to the house in Draper...
Askie back at the house in Holladay. He loved the backyard at that house and didn't have to go up quite as many stairs... Askie with the supposedly indestructible toy....
And here he is resting after the kill... probably 10 minutes later.
Askie and I... sitting on his favorite blanket.... he's had it since he was a puppy.
Troy and Askie...
Askie Silver was born on March 17th in 1996. Here he is in May of that year, at about 2 months old. He already weighed about 25 pounds... and look at the size of those paws!

August in California....

Afternoon at Big Corona... Glad to know my love of shoes started at such a young age... haha! This is a picture of a note my Mom wrote in my baby book when I was a little more than a year old. There was a whole page about how I loved my shoes. Still do! :)
Let the BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA begin!! We were celebrating Etta's, Ava's, Ameya's and Trevor's birthdays! So fun!
I think the turtle was trying to hide...
Etta looks ready to wake board.
Gotta love the slip and slide!
One of the turtles even wanted a turn on the slip and slide... I think this is Hotlegs, but I can't quite tell.
Nice air Nate!
And what party would be complete without a bouncy house??

Big Corona again...
Ferry ride....
Etta is totally making a funny face, but I thought it was so funny that she totally leaned over to be in the picture... haha!
Fun zone...
Ruby's on the Balboa Pier...
Such a fun trip!! Thanks all for making my visit home so great!
